I have two cucumber plants in a large container and the plants look wondeful with lots of blooms and tiny cucumbers but the cucumbers turn yellow and drop off before they become mature. Any suggestions? I am in Houston.
Make sure that the plants are receiving ample sunlight, at least 6 hours daily, and that your plants never wilt or stay too moist as either of these extremes can cause bud and fruit drop. Also check for cucumber beetles or any other insect on the stems or leaves, and any that might have burrowed into the stems.
