2012 Spring Pack Trials – Day 2: March 25, 2012
Day 2: A misty drive through the California hills
Fast and furious is today’s schedule so here’s the highlights thus far:
We saw a great Salvia at Sunset Western Garden Collection. ‘Amistad’ Salvia has dark velvety flowers with a nearly black calyx. The plants are said to bloom constantly from early Spring till frost. ‘Amistad’ offers a more compact and fuller growth habit and is a magnet for butterflies and hummingbirds. It requires full to part sun, grows quickly up to 3-4' tall and 3' wide.
We’ll be looking closer at testing the performance of this plant in the Texas region!
