Ask the PlantMaster

The leaves on my oleanders keep turning yellow and falling off, to much water?

If you think that your Oleander is getting too much water, then this may be the problem. Check your irrigation system or watering system to make sure that it is set to keep your plants moist but never wet for extended periods. Of course, the completely opposite can cause this type of response - keeping the Oleanders too dry. If you feel that neither of these is the problem, there is a time of year when these plants are putting on new growth and flowers and the older, inner-most leaves drop out because they've become shaded by the amount of new growth shading the plant's interior. This is usually considered normal for most Oleanders. If you question either of these, please write back with more details about the care that you've given your Oleanders and we'll try again.

Thanks for your inquiry.
