Antique Roses
-- Also known as “Old Garden Roses”, Antique Roses are any rose of or belonging to a class prior to 1867. Fragrant and hardy, these roses require less care than most. The different varieties range from dwarfs to cluster blooms to climbers and everything in between.
Climbing Roses
--Climbing Roses have been used for centuries to cover walls, trellises, pergolas and walkways. They bring beauty and fragrance to the eye and nose level, evoking the senses. Climbers must be tied to supports and can grow to lengths of 18 to 20 feet. Prune the canes after the first flush of blooms.
English Roses
--English Roses combine the form and fragrances of old roses with the repeat flowering of modern roses. These roses bring the romance and charm of years past to your garden. Their blooms are packed with layers of petals, appealing fragrances and soft coloring. They are easy to grow, healthy and reliable.
Floribunda Roses
--This compact growing bush with clusters of blooms was a result of crossing Polyantha roses with Hybrid Teas. Reaching 2½ to 3½ feet in height, they flower continuously.
Grandiflora Roses
--A name developed to describe the taller and more vigorous of Floribundas. Grandifloras are large bushes that produce large flowers on long stems. They grow 5 to 8 feet tall and make excellent background plants.
Groundcover Roses
--These hardy spreading roses quickly cover large areas creating a carpet of low maintenance color ideal for slopes and rocky areas. They spread vigorously and flower continuously providing carefree color all Summer. They do not require much pruning.
Hybrid Tea Roses
--Most popular type of rose! Grows 3 to 5 feet tall and large flowers are borne on strong stems that make excellent cut flowers. Usually double and fragrant, they are the classic beauty of the rose!
Shrub Roses
--More informal in their growth habit, Shrub roses are easy-care, versatile and fragrant. In general, they are larger and leafier than Hybrid Teas and Floribundas. Colorful rose hips appear throughout Winter. They adapt well to many types of soils and temperatures. Use in beds, borders or as specimens.
