School’s out for summer!

School’s out for summer!

Get into the garden and banish boredom

My dear fellow parents (and grandparents!): There’s nothing like the whirlwind of activities we cram into the last two weeks of the school year, right? I imagine your days—like mine—have been filled with planning end-of-year parties, attending talent shows, graduation ceremonies…the list goes on.

Take a deep breath. The chaos will subside in the next few weeks. And then—Summer break! Hooray!

But you and I both know that euphoria will wane almost as quickly as it arrived. Especially for the little ones. Never fear! We have the antidote for summer boredom: Get into the garden!

We’re offering a fun (and free) way to get the kids thinking about the great outdoors. Our Callie’s Kids Gardening Series will host programs in June, July and August.

I’m particularly excited about the June 20 event (9:30 a.m.). We’ll be reading “The Princess and the Pea” and planting a seed or two. Fun-ness shall abound!

Click here to read more about the event, and the others lined up for this summer. You can sign up now to reserve spots for the kiddos.

Happy Summer to all, and to all…good planting!
