What is the ideal spacing for Apples and Cross pollination Questions
Dear Sir / Madam,
We purchased Jonathan and Mollies Delicious. We want to make sure that they are good cross pollination pair.
Secondly with spacing, we don't have a tag on the Mollies Delicious that describes the spacing, width and height of the tree. Could you please provide us the details. Since the spacing recommended on the Jonathan apple is 30', we are wondering if that is needed in home based plantation too. Our worry is that we will not be left with much space for other plantation with 20-30' spacing.
The more space that you can allow between your Apple trees, the better your production will be, and the better you will be able to maintain them. The ‘Mollie’s Delicious’ is listed as a good pollinator, and the recommendation is to have two different trees nearby, so you should be good in your selection. There is a very good information sheet for Home Cultivation of Apples; click HERE.
Thanks for your inquiry,
