Ask the PlantMaster

What kind of light is required for Begonias?

Most Begonias require filtered sunlight or dappled sunlight, but can usually tolerate partial shade during the day. If they are grown in shade they tend to become thinly branched and fail to produce the flowers expected. But some varieties of Begonias are grown for their foliage and these can tolerate a bit more shade. As with anything grown in shade, watering should be monitored so that the plants are not kept too wet.
