INDOOR CONTAINER GARDENS FOR MOM

STEP TWO: ADD THE FOCAL PLANT

Next, add your hand selected plant to create a dynamic look with color and texture. This plant will be the focal point in the container. Try Bromeliads. Bromeliads provide long-lasting color for interior plantings and shady patios. They are low maintenance and prefers moist, well-draining soil conditions. Maintain a small amount of water in the “vase” portion or the center of the plant to keep it happy and healthy.

STEP THREE: ADD COLORFUL BLOOMS

You can grow beautiful flowers indoors with a premium selection like Kalanchoe. Kalanchoe is a low-maintenance succulent with exceptional, long-lasting blooms. STEP FOUR: CARE TIPS

Once you are done planting, water in thoroughly until water comes out of the drain hole. Add more potting soil if needed.

STEP ONE: ADD POTTING SOIL

Fill the container of choice for your Mom with Calloway’s Premium Container Potting Soil, leaving space for the plants.

STEP TWO: ADD THE THRILLER

Next, add your Thriller. The Thriller is the focal point of the container garden. You can place it in the center or near the back of the container, depending on where it will be displayed. Dahlias are the perfect Thriller because of their upright and bold blooms. These long-lasting flowers are prized as summer bloomers. They are excellent for mass plantings or as cut flowers.

STEP THREE: ADD THE FILLER

Next, add the Filler. To round out your container and provide contrast and fullness, try Diamond Frost® Euphorbia by Proven Winners®! Euphorbia is an impressive, low maintenance plant that produces clouds of airy white flowers all season. It is heat and drought tolerant and works great as a stand-alone plant or in combinations.

STEP FOUR: ADD THE SPILLER

Finally, complete your creation with the Spiller. The Spillers are trailing plants that hang over the edge of the container. Try adding a splash of color with Supertunia Vista® Bubblegum Petunias. It is one of the best performing varieties in Texas, draped in stunning shell pink frilly flowers at the ends of the stems from spring to mid fall. Supertunias are available in a variety of colors so be sure to pick Mom’s favorite!

STEP FIVE: CARE TIPS

Water in thoroughly and add more potting soil if needed.
