STEP 3: ADD PLANTS

Now it is time to start planting! Make sure everything is dry, from the glue to the paint. Before you add your plant selections, keep in mind where they will be displayed and their sun and water requirements! Plant with Calloway’s Premium Container Potting Soil to keep your plants healthy and happy.

To plant, fill your container Calloway’s Premium Container Potting Soil. Make sure to leave room for your plant. Remove the plant from its plastic container and gently break up the root ball. Plant it in the potting soil and water in thoroughly, allowing the water to drain through the container. Add more potting soil if needed.

Poinsettias

poinsettia

Poinsettias from Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery are selected for their unmatched quality! Picked from premium growers to ensure that you receive the best of the best. Poinsettias can be grown indoors or outside and requires little light to flourish. Poinsettias work wonderfully in containers on shady patios and porches, or indoors. Poinsettias require well-drained soil and partial sun during the day. They grow best in cooler temperatures, but bring inside on those cold Christmas nights.

Did you know when you buy a poinsettia, you are helping improve the well-being of kids in need in our communities. At Calloway’s and Cornelius, 10% of all poinsettias purchased will be donated to Lena Pope. For over 90 years, Lena Pope has been investing in the well-being of children now to lead to happy, healthy, and successful adults later. They provide proactive services and support to improve the emotional, behavioral, and intellectual well-being of kids to keep them on a path toward success.

Cool Season Color

For cool season color, choose from varieties like Cyclamen, Matrix® Pansies, or Dusty Miller. Explore all of our selections of cool season color at our store nearest you or online here!

Cyclamen features downward-facing flowers with petals at the ends of the stems. Its bold heart-shaped leaves remain green in color throughout the season. Cyclamen does best in partial shade and prefers evenly moist soil conditions.

Matrix® Pansies are known for their large blooms and consistent growth during the cooler season. They come in bold and vibrant colors in blotch and clear styles! Matrix® Pansies grow quickly and are best planted in partial shade to full sun. Allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Dusty Miller features soft white fern like foliage with silvery grey hairs. A perfect choice for a frosty touch in a sunny landscape! Dusty Miller prefers full sun and a well-draining soil like Calloway’s Premium Container Potting Soil.

Fresh Herbs

Choose from our selection of fresh cool season herbs, like rosemary, thyme, basil and more! Your herbs need sunshine to grow and develop their flavor! For herb gardens, plants should be placed in a location that receives 6-8 hours of sun and afternoon shade.

Indoor Plants
