How to Care for your Roses this Summer

STEP 1: PRUNE

After the first bloom, lightly prune your plant by clipping just about the third set of leaves. Then, clean up your cuttings to avoid disease growth that could harm your plant!

STEP 2: FEED

Dig a shallow trench all the way around your rose plant. Feed your plant and apply a slow release fertilizer like Calloway’s Professional Rose Food.

STEP 3: WATER

After feeding your plant, water in all of the nutrients. Be careful not to wash away the fertilizer but do allow the water to slowly seep deep into the plant’s roots.

STEP 4: MULCH

Add mulch around the rose bush. Select from one of our Calloway’s Premium Mulches, like our Calloway’s Pine Bark Mulch. Mulch helps maintain the moisture around your plant and reduces weed growth.

Finally, in just a few weeks, your roses will look bold and beautiful with vibrant blooms!
