Peach Trees are the leading deciduous fruit crop grown in Texas. An estimated 1 million trees are planted statewide, only half of which are planted in commercial orchards of 1 acre or larger.

Peach Tree features showy pink or reddish flowers along the branches in early spring. It has attractive dark green foliage. In the landscape, even if fruit may not be abundant, the spring flowers are timed similar to Azaleas. This is a medium-maintenance crop. There are specific spray schedules to prevent insect damage and maximize harvest. It is a good choice for attracting birds, bees and butterflies to your yard. Peach Trees will grow to be 8 or 10 feet tall and 8 to 10 feet wide. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years. Peaches must have full sun. It does best in average to evenly moist conditions, but will not tolerate standing water. Peach Trees must have reasonably good soil. Black clays are fine. Sandy loam, if you’re lucky enough to have it, is even better. This particular variety is an interspecific hybrid. It can be propagated by grafting; however, as a cultivated variety, be aware that it may be subject to certain restrictions or prohibitions on propagation. Peach Trees is a good choice for the edible garden, but it is also well-suited for use in conventional landscapes.
